There’s no easier way to dress up a table than by adding on a table runner or 2. They can add depth or brightness to a tablescape, or even double as a placemat. It’s no wonder that I have so many of them!
The best place to get runners (in my humble opinion) is IKEA. Especially if you want to add a bit of personality to them. Runners at many stores start around $15, but theirs are closer to about $5. What’s not to love about that?
As for these tassel runners, they were so, so easy to make and they really dress up the table. In fact, I love them so much that I might even make a couple more in different styles. Why? Because it was less than $20 and 20 minutes to decorate 2 runners. Not only is this a great budget-friendly way to decorate your home, but an awesome DIY gift for friends or family.
Unroll your runners and give them a press with the iron on a low heat setting.
Measure and cut 4 lengths of tassel trim for the short ends of the runners. Do the same for your bonding web.
Sandwich the bonding web between the tassel trim and the edge of the runner.
Place a damp (emphasis on damp!) ironing cloth over the top and press with your iron for about 10 seconds. If the bonding web doesn’t fuse, re-wet the cloth and press again. The steam is the key to successful bonding! Set beautiful tables with your lovely new tassel table runners.
