Easy “Let’s Nosh” Cork Trivets
Remember back in March when I said I picked up a bunch of craft blanks at IKEA? These cork trivets are one of the things I picked up. I also bought some jars and table runners, but you’ll have to wait for those projects. For now.
This craft is very similar to the L’Chaim carafes, but I found that the cork was easier to work with. So this would be a good craft to do with kids, if you like.

I used my Cricut to cut out the stencil vinyl, but you can also hand cut the stencil on Con-tact paper.

Some tips on painting with stencils to ensure cleaner lines:
- Gently place the stencil where you want it. Once it’s in place, burnish it down with a scraper or a credit card
- Add just a little bit of paint to the brush. It should not be dripping with paint
- Dab the paint over the stencil, don’t brush the paint
- After the second coat, and while the paint is wet, remove the stencil
I really love how these trivets turned out. They’re so perfect for using year-round. They would also make really lovely gifts, especially as a hostess gift.
